only you can decide that !

but anyway....

Japanese - good business opportunities (if you can handle Japanese double standards, plus think this- business Japanese is fairly hard to master)

Chinese - most used language in the world and a booming economy, good business opportunities.

Korean - Koreans speak good enough English (in the business opportunity sense),

Spanish - second most widely used language in the world, however, business opportunities not so great.

French - French is dead ! (your about 200 years too late),

haha just my two cents, or is that rupees ?

good luck

Hi, You can choose either French or Spanish coz these two languages are widely spread all over the world among the 5. You can give first preference to French. Other 3 languages you can use in the home country alone.

If you want to learn a language other than what you speak, first of all you have to learn with interest, not to aim for an economic reward or Business!

Then, any international language is a plus point. But one thing you have to remember! Before learning any of those 5 languages, try to speak English with fairly nice accent. It is really important for any language speaker.

Okay, let me give some tips!

Chinese: Difficult to learn a different script how to read and write. Speaking is okay, you may get it. Job- Any Chinese Company, Instructor, and Interpretor In India.

Spanish: Easy to learn; English scripts; Many Spanish speaking countries to communicate for hunting jobs; Job- Trading business company, Instructor and Interpretor in India.

Japanese: Again 3 different scripts; Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji(Chinese scripts); All 3 types of scripts are needed. Interesting to learn; Easy for Indian people.
Same type of grammer and style of speaking. But, you have to add more polite expressions and soft in sounds.
Job: Certainly many Japanese Companies are in India, I guess. Trading business oppertunity in Japan too! So go for it!

Korean: Okay, but not many people speak in abroad or India. Again, only if you have any Korean companies in India, go for it.

French: Just for fun to speak in France or other french speaking countries. Job-? I have a question. Other than being lecturer in India, hardly you find any job in abroad.

Among all, Japanese is the best way to go forward to use your resume in India and Japan.

In the USA, you have to be an equivalent language speaker to a native language speaker to find any job related to the language you want to learn.

Lastly, no matter what you major it, make yourself interest into it. Have fun and enjoy the language! Reward comes naturally!

For economic rewards try to learn two of them. The easiest would be Spanish, French Japanese, Korean, then Chinese in that order. But thats. my opinion. Uhh, if your looking for a major, stick with the easiest, but if you want to try something else go for it. I like Japanese, Chinese and Korean myself. Just play with it first, see what you like and don't like.

not spanish or korean. Japanese could help, French is probably only good for food and dance terms. So that leaves Chinese as my choice. Language spoken by most people in the world and like the guy above said, its an emerging superpower

Hi Mounti,

All of the above suggestion are good. If you decided to choose what language to take, you could search it from http://www.LanguageSchoolsGuide.com/search.cfm

It's operated by GoAbroad.com so it's pretty organized and comprehensive. You even have the clue as to what kind of organization it is by the light green icon(check, check++, and check+) and some testimonials from past participants.

For your convenience, I have here the links for the different language study you asked:
* Chinese - http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listings.cfm/foreignlangID/2
* Spanish - http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listings.cfm/foreignlangID/24
* Japanese - http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listings.cfm/foreignlangID/16
* Korean - http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listings.cfm/foreignlangID/17
* French - http://www.languageschoolsguide.com/listings.cfm/foreignlangID/8

Hope this helps.
Good Luck! :)

Chinese would be very good for business. French is a must if you want to go into politics. Can you major in two languages?

Chinese - good opportunities to work as a translator. many US, UK and even Indian companies are looking forward to make business with the Chinese for the most powerfull reason being ... the cheap labour and low manufacturing costs. And it is really difficult to communicate with them. so if you learn Chinese you have a greater advantage to become a translator or tutor for many MNC's and in turn as there are only a few people who are experts in this language. you will be in great demand and thus it translates to more $$$$$$$.........so just GO FOR IT.

If you're planning on moving to the US, then spanish would really come in handy (All of these illegal mexicans are coming in ,and nobody's trying to stop them). but if you're staying in india, then I have no clue. French would only help if you move to france, and the same with chinese, japanese, and korean.
