i think gerrard is a better all round player although he hasent score as much goals, hes better devensivly and when he does score he knows how 2 bang them in!!

gerrard all the way, he's not scored as many as lampard, but thats cos he never gets played for enlgand where he plays in liverpools team.........he's better all round as you say if he's allowed the space to roam!!
and plus a lot of lampie's goals for chelsea are penalties, they're not just from open play, he lost my respect during the workd cup where he'd just keep trying and trying, which denied other players the chance to score......he had the most shots out of all the players in the world cup and he didnt score one goal, shameful!!
texxan 13 obviously doesnt watch the cup finals with liverpool in where gerrard has taken his team from 3-0 down, blasted a few scorchers in and saved the day......fool!

coming from a man u fan.. gotta be GERRARD..
lampard has scored more goals probably this season than gerrard but keep in mind Gerrard is a more consistent player especially for his country, who can also score some amazing goals from no where. Gerrard and joe cole are similar players but different positions cept obviously Gerrard is alittle bit better than joe cole.. lampard is becoming quite ordinary.
Lampard is never in the game, never runs with the ball and doesnt shoot as much.. notice his passing is sometimes pretty bad or he tries to do too much.. and when he goes shoot he just hits it from anywhere n hopes to get lucky n misses.. luckily he gets a deflection but Gerrard is just better totally overall.
Gerrard has flair Lampard doesnt..
Lampard at one time was a great midfielder but over the last 2 years has gotten worse i think.
its like carrick.. hes also like lampard.. an ordinary midfielder, not worth 20 million, either is lamps but gerrard.. now he is someone worth 20 million at the vry least wouldnt u agree?
you stick gerrard, joe cole, barton and lennon into a midfield of 4 and you got englands best midfield in my eyes..
all 4 can score goals cept maybe lennon but lamps n carrick as mids dont do anything but pass.
lamps takes too much space up.

what the devil is teXXan 13 ON ABOUT? Gerrard is an all round better player than Lampard could ever be, and Lampard has not performed for England, mclaren should drop him temporarily just to try Gerrard in his best position midfield with hargreaves behind him. Pity about Scholes though!

Stevie G all the way lampard is just a average footballer in a team of stars that's how he gets by at chelski Gerrard is unselfish and has that great ability to be a match saver IE west ham fa cup ac Milan he wears his heart on his sleeve will get stuck in and will run until he can t run no more. No one can say that about Lampard he looks like he can t be bothered on the pitch

Depends on which colour you wants. Lampard seems to be better from the center and have better capability to score goals more consistent than Gerrard.
Gerrard is more of a inspiration when the chips are down. He tends to be more effective from RW but will score from center. And of course Gerrard is also better defensively, if need to.
So, if you have to have only ONE, Take Gerrard.

Gerrard. Hands down!! Look at there respective trophy cabinets. You put Gerrard on Chelsea and you have one of the top 3 players in the world. Liverpool has some great players, but nothing like what Lampard has around him.

Gerrard is an immense player and is proven in the England shirt. Lampard has yet to impress with England. Gerrard is defintely the man!

looking at both players Gerrard looks as if he shows more passion of playing for England than lampard and also the fact that I think he is a better player!

Steven Gerrard is the best central midfielder in england by a mile. Lampard is a very average player in an exceptional side. Essien is the best midfielder at chelsea. Stevie G can do it al, he has no weaknesses. Lampard is one dimensional, he can only shoot.
