I wasn't aware of any rule changes - until I just looked it up. Here is a link for anyone interested.

I'm not sure how much it will affect the season and the outcomes of the games and overall season - sure changes always affect things, that's why they're made. But how substantial will it be? It may take a little getting used to but I don't think it will make the game completely different.

Another rule change is that game balls have to be kept at a tempature of 70 degrees at 50% humidity for 2 hours before the game. At ballparks like Coors Field in Denver, the balls would be kept at cooler tempatures to combat the altitude of the field, because a hot ball travels farther than a cold ball. I see this rule directly affecting the Rockies, and I wouldn't be surprised to see their home record slip by a few games this year.

They seem like very minor adjustments to me. The one that will be interesting is the 12 second rule for pitching. Who's counting, and how will they enforce it. The article I read didn't give any details. The funniest one was allowing multicolored gloves for pitchers. You know that some of the nutty RPs are gonna push that one. I think we'll see some interesting attempts at that rule. :)

You need to give us more detail. Which rule changes are you talking about?

Just read you additional info. Yes, it could really determine who would even make the playoffs. Sometimes rules like that just kill the game. There are pitchers in the hall of fame because they did stuff like that their entire careers.

Its going to effect it little to none. Not many baseball players take this approach any longer. There were only a few baseball players last year caught scuffing the baseball. And even when they are it doesnt effect the baseball that much.

I think the only rule change that may make any difference is the 12 second rule for pitchers, what is up with that!

it should be more about rule enforcement . the no stepping in the dug out will save about two three outs a game, they can still reach in there to make an out but not step in.. the rule is if the player leaves the field of play the ball is considered foul, how many times do you see a guy land in the crowed and make a out.

this should be interesting.... haha. i cant wait to see all this unfold this season. only time will tell what kind of affect this will have on the game of baseball though. i dont think it will be too bad and it will take some time getting used to for the players and for the fans... but only time will tell.
