i.e.

my husband and i spend approx per month:

$400 on food/shopping
$200 gas/electric
$65 water/sewerage
$100 petrol
$1000 rent/mortgage

we are living in UK at the moment, but are moving to Houston next year, so anyone could give us a rough idea of what you are paying (and how big your family is - i.e. couple, single, couple + 1 child, single + 4 children, etc) that would be brilliant and if anyone would like me to answer their questions in return just ask away and i will be pleased to assist, thank you all. x x

paying what your paying in the UK you could live in a great neighborhood, I live in a nice neighborhood, it's really cheap to live in TX.

I'm single with no kids, i live in a townhome (upstairs/downstairs) I pay under a $1000, so my half is like $450, most apartments you pay electric, here lately it's been pretty high so total in electric is $230 a month average so my part is around $115 to $120 and then I have my cell which on average is $60-$70 a month, I work less than 15 minutes from my job so I pay under $50 a month for gas...I have a small car and I don't travel around town alot. So overall that can give you an idea.
