First it was anger over 9/11 and a need for revenge.
Then it was WMD's
Then it was to remove a dictator.
Then to promote freedom and democracy.
Then to help the poor Iraqis.
Now it's about pride and a need to "win"

There are a number of reasons why we went to war with Iraq. The main reason is security. However, Iraq wasn't really the main target--Iran is. Iran is the root of all the problems in the middle east. It's a much larger country with three times as many people living in it. Attacking Iran while Saddam Hossein was in power would have been a foolish thing to do. Although Saddam hated Iran, he could have joined them in a war against the US. Our strategy was to attach Iraq and basically surround Iran. Turkey is considered an ally of the US as is Pakistan. We were already stationed in Afghanistan. Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia are neutral. The plan was to scare the Iranians and force them to abandon their nuclear ambitions. And if they failed to do so, Iraq would be a launching pad for attacking Iran. The plan backfired when countries such as France and Russia opposed us due to their own interests in Iraq. That eventually led to a growing opposition of Americans to war. This division and opposition at home can lead to our defeat in Iraq and in middle east in general. We cannot win a war while people here are against it. Furtheremore, it emboldens countries like Iran to continue their nuclear ambitions. They now know that we are less likely to attack them.
As for those who claim we went to war because of oil, I like to see how Bush benefited from it. Please don't tell me his family was in oil business. Show me exactly how much money he or his family made from the increas in oil prices.

Because there was a psycho in power in this country, I'm in Iraq now, killing indiscriminately because he could, he was sucking as much wealth out of the country living extravagantly while his people were living off of very little. He was also tormenting another sect of Muslims because they had a different belief. He needed to go, and we failed to do it during the 1st gulf war, so we went in and took him out. This also shocked the terrorist world and got them scattering… my question is WHO’S NEXT!!!!

Lots of reasons. Go to your nearest library. It is possible they store newspapers on microfilm. Read the newspapers after 9/11. It's all spelled out for you, very thoroughly.

Yes, I remember. I also remember that both sides of the aisle were united in favor of the war.

Yeah, this neocon dude named Bush wanted to.
By the way... Liberals_R_Treasonists... don't you mean traitors? I was just thinking, if you're going to go around slandering people all the time, traitor might be a good word to know - then you wouldn't have to make up cutesy words along with that cutesy intel.

there were several reasons, one of which was the conviction that Hussein was a threat to the world. He committed known atrocities on his own people for decades. and there was fear that his country would develop WMD's.
