Even if he was fired, which I didn't hear, someone who is similar will be brought in by ESPN as an analyst.
Is Shannon Sharpe any better? No way.

Bill Cowher was just hired by CBS, the AFC network, so we'll have to see how he plays out when asked about upcoming Steeler games.

Who's Michael Irving?

Yup. Thank God. Most annoying guy on tv next to Deion. Now they will bring another Cowboy in E. Smith or Bill Parcells.

Yes he brought some attitude to the studio but in the end he was fired for his incessiant rooting for the cowboys (announcers should be neutral) and lacked strong objective analysis

Yes he was probably fired, I heard Bill Parcells got a job there...so that might be his replacement. Another Cowboy.

I liked the spice that Irvin brought to the table. The fights between him and Steve Young were classic on that show. Who is taking his place?

Michael Irvin is not returning to ESPN.

Fired!
Option not exercised!
Contract not picked up!
Amicable parting of ways!

"What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;"

Whatever you want to call it, he's no longer with ESPN.
Good riddance to the pompous ahole.

"ESPN decided Friday "as part of an annual evaluation" not to exercise an option in Irvin's contract, it was confirmed Saturday."

ESPN's NFL programming just got more intelligent by cutting him loose. Good riddance.
