that is what the new government survey has just revealed.
I think that is shocking and something must be done, that means that the tax payers are paying out more than we actually thought so good for nothing bums can sit at home doing nothing except having more babies for us to pay for, it makes me sick
I drove past a council estate the other day and there was not one crappy car parked out side the houses! how do they affoard decent cars when they cant pay their own rent and for their own children and anything else that they need.
I just think there should be a new rule or limit on how long you can be looking for work, if you havent found a job in that time then your benefits are stopped it might make some of these people realise that the tax payers dont owe them a living,
What do you think??

I am not talking about people who genuinely cannot work due to a disability or any impairment, I am talking about able bodied people who can work but wont work.

I totally agree with this - the problem is the system is so easy to cheat i.e you have the disability claimants who work, the dollies who all work -especially cash in hand takeaway, deliveries and not forgeting the labourers who all need every other Thursday morning off to sign on - my blokes a builder and he said he's never met a labourer whos been on the books - they all claim!
Then there's the single parents who all have their council houses claiming every thing under the sun (with there cash in hand cleaning jobs) with there blokes living down the round who are the labourers claiming the dole having there rent paid for - and the best ones are the ones who live with the single mum and then sub let their flats which they are already claiming for to get even more money!
And I know there are deserving cases out there but to be honest they are few and far between.
When I have my baby me and my partner will both have to carry on working why can't the single mum!
And if you can afford to buy a council house then get out the house and buy one! Why do you get a discounted house why can't they just buy one like every1 else and leave the house for some1 who can't afford housing!
There should be a limit on how long you can claim dole for as well - max of a year then thats it no rent no benifit - and no claiming again for so long!
And there should definitly put a stop to the council paying your mortgage - thats what you take out ASU policies for and if you haven't taken one out and you can't pay your mortgage then sell!
Could go on and on and provide real life examples of people I know and people other people know - this subject really grates on me!!

When I was on maternity leave I was really struggling to pay my way and I asked to be put on the list for council housing (just as a temporary solution as I hate relying on other people) and because I am in regular work and have been since I left school, they didnt even want to help me.
I work full time and have a little girl who is 3 in april and I wouldnt even want to live off hand-outs. I have my own house now (which is more than can be said for others). And I hate the fact that I am paying for people to live who cant be bothered to get off their arses. I only wanted help for 6 months seeing as I have always paid my taxes but wasnt eligible. Maybe I should have got a drug habit or something.

where I come from, you don't work then you don't eat. There are no handouts. There is no reason why these scavenging, lazy ,bone idle ,blood sucking human beings can't work.
That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.
Getting something for nothing is far too easy, it's the people that work that pay for this, not the government themselves, they just call the shots and take part of your lovely hard earned cash and dish it out to all and sundry.
ps. you forgot to mention the satellite dishes on the council estates.
I do not by no means mean pensioners and people that are physically unable to work.
CJ you are totally right, I agree with you. Ive not lived in the uk for almost 20 years, I live in greece and I dont know ANYONE that is out of work...why? because there is no such thing as getting free handouts, ONLY IF you have paid into the system for 2 years.( then thats only for a maximum of 4 months) It seems to work great here. I would be ashamed to sit on my backside all day and not go to work if I were able, not to mention bored out of my mind.

people like you make me sick and i hope you are never so unfortunate that you HAVE to claim.
i have 2 children and WANT to work, however i am single as my husband ran off with another women with 4 kids of her own and doesnt pay me a penny.i started work after he left, and by the time i'd paid childcare costs etc i didnt even have eenough left for food for my children.i then started getting my family/friends to look after my kids while i worked, which didnt work out and wasnt practical.i was doing all hours possible and hardly seeing my kids just to keep a roof over our head and put food on the table.
i ended up losing my home.im now in a council house, working 5 hours a week as a dinnerlady with the rest of my income being topped up in benefits.im far from well off and comfortable.i dont have sky tv and can no longer afford to run a car.i didnt ask to live like this and sure as hell dont want to.people have kids with their partners as a couple.when things dont work out and you get left as a single parent, you need help.
i agree that some people abuse the system but, saying that benefits should be stopped?whats that all about?where would that leave us and the next generation.
its time you took your head out of the sand and looked at the full picture.
and as for what i think?i think you are a tosser who should try living my life for just one day!

Good question! That's why Gordon Brown taxes the a**e of the British People. To give to the army of bleedin' scroungers and bone-idle people we have at this time! I have two young, fit guys 'working' with me, and they only work TWO days a week! Any more and they lose their benefits. And they have long stretches off with 'bad' backs, and demand their sick pay! And we pay for their families and their Sky TV, and their X-Boxes and mobile phones! And I KNOW they have all of that!
Forget the PC brigade, I say have a concerted, determined effort and root these people out and put them in jail for a spell. When they come out, it's get a job, any job, or starve!

Maybe people who want to have children should earn the right to give birth to them, inorder to aviod not being able to fund them.
However, you have to also consider that there are some people who have to live on benefit because of illness and disability.
But I am also aware that UK has people who commit fraud on benefits etc when they are already working. They really do live it up.
Complete arrest of benefits before a person gets a job would just lead to a comprimise in there ability to prevent depts.
So to get a job, the job has to be obtain after benefits are recieved. However, those who are capable of working should be found work to suit thier abilities.

you're superb, i'm rather particular all styles of wealth redistribution via a central authority is robbery through fact the government acquires the wealth via tension (nicely, different than perchance stealing enemy ingredients for the duration of a conflict). in assessment, wealth redistribution via a charity does not be robbery through fact it acquires the wealth from voluntary donations. the belief in the back of the bailouts grow to be to ward off further financial crumple. even though, the difficulty with it relatively is that it sends a risky message that once rich companies act irresponsibly the US government will confiscate wealth from the folk to assist them. mutually as letting those companies crumple would ok have led to further financial crumple interior the quick term, saving them will reason financial difficulty for some years yet to come back.

Firstly, the one in three includes pensioners, most of whom have been paying NI all their lives in exchange for their pensions.
Secondly, most unemployment claimants are professionals, in between jobs, and most get another job within 18 months.
Thirdly, last time I had to claim, it was £57 a week. Nobody can afford a decent lifestyle on that amount. If they are living the high life then it's possibly by criminal means - the police should come down on them like a ton of bricks.

It's official you are a *****.. Umm how can I say this in a nice way. You are a materialistic shallow ****- yeah that's about as nice as I can put it. "Oh nooo! why can't they afford decent cars" ****! Okay lets take away all welfare and then lets not give any aid relief to third world countries, and see what kind of a world we live in.
I know who's house they will be coming to rob first, and it's not me.But you may have a point in moving people into to employment faster. Of course it's great to work and have money-it gives people a sense of self worth, and is good for society as a whole.
