Nah You Shouldn't Like Avoid Him. Just because Hes Gay It Doesn't Mean Hes Not A Nice Guy. I Know A Few Gay Guys And They're A Right Laugh. I Have SO Much Fun With Them And Just Because Hes Different Hes Like One Of My Best Mates. You Shouldn't Judge Anyone By Their Sexuality. It Doesn't Make Them A Different Person. Xxx

First of all , if you wantto go to the rollerdisco with him, then go. His sexual preference shouldn't affect things. I take you're a guy (there are no clues in the question) If you feel uneasy being around someone who is gay then, dont go! Just because he is gay, doesn't mean that he isn't one of the boys.

If anything, you gotta give him credit for being strong enough in himself to have the coinfidence to be openly gay at school.

I think its wonderful to have a variety of all sorts of friends. That's what I tell my children. Sometimes people who you would not expect, become the best friends you could have ever had.

My daughter has befriended a girl at her school who is in special classes because she is mentally disabled (my daughter helps her out when she can--gets her to her classes, etc.) and, at first, my daughter was a little nervous about it, but now she tells me how sweet this girl is and how she makes her laugh. I told my daughter, sometimes you think that you are helping someone, but it ends up that you are the one being helped.

I have always encouraged my children to take on a variety of friends, and to especially try to befriend those who seem to be alone with no friends. My son ended up being the one who would take up for the "underdogs," and my daughter goes out of her to way to make them feel a part of her group.

Don't be ashamed to be his friend.

The only thing you have to fear is falling for your gay friend. Homosexual men are usually more courteous, more liberal, more accepting and, in general, nicer than straight guys. Go and have fun. It's not a reflection on you if he's gay. That's "how he rolls". (Oh, no, I just made a terrible pun)
He's probably just looking for new friends.

I agree with cuddles_g, he is one of the boys. If you're so afraid that others will think your gay if you hang around him, just say you have other plans. If not, go and have a good time.

like you said there sexual preferences is their own business, but they can be a friend just like a straight person and you can't have too many friends, and you dint have to worry about falling in love with best friend and being worried if it will ruin the friendship, but he may end up competition with your boyfriend,LOL,no really it'll be OK,one of my best friends is gay , shes pretty cool to be around, we've been friends for 25 years now.

Just be open about how you feel, a bit of understanding can go a long way, and i'm a straight geezer. It could be the start of a life long friendship; we all need friends.

He is one of the boys - what's your problem? Get over it, seriously!!! You scared he might fancy you? By the same argument, you wouldn't hang out with any girls either!

Go! He's still one of the boys, isn't he? It sounds like you would like to go...it doesn't mean anything. Go and enjoy yourself!!! You'll find that he's no different than you or anyone else.
