William Hill has stopped taking bets on the 2007 English FA Cup final being staged at the new Wembley Stadium. They are very unlikely to get it wrong.
This follows the latest in a long line of newspaper reports claiming safety checks would not be completed in time for the May 19th.
If correct, it would mean the game being staged at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium once again.
Although the FA would like to stage this year's Cup final at Wembley, the governing body has so far refused to commit itself definitively to a location.
In order to get its safety certification in time for the final, it was planned to host a u-21 international and (I think) the womens FA cup final. It seems unlikely this is going to happen, so get your train tickets to Cardiff reserved!

It should be the first to be played at the new Wembley Stadium and the first FA Cup Final to played in London since 2000. However, it is possible that Wembley Stadium will not be ready in time, in which case, the match will be played once more at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Wembley has to host 3 events before May to test that the Stadium meets health and safety requirements. There has recently been a dispute which threatens to delay the opening but I believe they are going to pull out all the stops to get it ready for the Cup Final. So I hope it is Wembley as I live 5 minutes from the Stadium and can't wait to see it doing what it does best - hosting legendary sporting events.

the 2007 English FA Cup was supposed to be held at the new Wembley Stadium but then again the opening of the new stadium has been delayed. so the final is still at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

I wouldn't bet on it being at the new Wembley stadium! I think it will be at Cardiff again. Keep your eyes peeled for tickets to go on sale. Ebay will probably be the first place (corporate non-fan types will be looking to sell) !
