i have a problem with my nether regions, after i have finshed my menstrual cycle the first time i make love to my partner it swells very bad and hurts! i have been to the doctors with not much help! anybody have this problem and why does it happen? please help it putting me off making love so offten.

Thanks all but the info your giving is not helping me, i dont use tampons incase i forget!, i dont make love when im on my period i feel uncomfortable and its only been happening for the last few mnths or so!

Hi is your partner using condoms? you could be allergic to the rubber or the lubricant on it. Try to go on the pill. However you have to take it for at least 2 cycles to ensure that you are 100% protected. Maybe you should try another brand. See if that helps. Also you can take a ibuprofen tablet after the act if the pain and swelling are excessive. Ice / cold compresses will help too. Finally Tell your partner to be gentle. Good luck

Its probably becuase you have been using tampons and from having that stuck in there for so long has cause you to be irritated. Try using smaller tampons and less ofter. Other than that you are probably just still sensetive down there and maybe any lubricants or anything you are using is afecting you.

Try the lube and also take an antihistamine around 20 minutes before you make love, it will help damp down the swelling

I would like to throw something out there. i maybe way off, but if it helps it maybe worth it.
Is there a possiblity that you have become uncomfortable with your partner. (mentally) He actually don't really want to have sex with him in the back of your mind and is there for causing you to tighten up your muscles. Just as if you are being raped?
Like i said I maybe way off, but I had the problem but didn't have it with someone else.

if u use condoms u could be allergic to the condom or the spermicide in some of the condoms try changing ur brands around anouther thing is ur muscles could still be tight from ur cycle the muscle also tightens when ur having a orgasium

Follow all the advices given by the other answeres along with mine: Make sure that your periods are completely over when u have sex. and Wash the area thoroughly.

Honey i have once had that same problem.When i stay long before i make love, i have a bad pain and swelling,which is very uncomfortable but when i make love constantly, i don't have any swelling or pain.So if you make love constantly, i don't think you will experience what you are experiencing.Good luck!

Could you have miscarried and not know it? Even if it was only like a week you might need a dnc.Go to an obgyn.

Did you actually see a Gynecologist... also did u forget a tampon in you.
I did for a night and my friend forgot her for a few months...and her body actually grew over it - she smelt and had pain having intercourse... she had to have it surgically removed. It can be done.

well i can tell you that it is common in some women. its just a natural thing. some cant get wet yet then others are wet and then dry up. its just cause you had your monthly
