Derivative Market itself is a topic in the category of Markets. You can conduct some study on the expiration day effects of the market, but the data may be difficult to find unless the project has long due date atleast 3 months, during which you can collect data from financial news papers and internet by picking up data on one month and three month expiry options. Writing on option strategies may be a good area and you will gain lot of experience doing this. Analysing each strategies and finding out how and when to execute them. Some example strategies are box spread, bull and bear etc;. Another area might be to write about Option greeks, like delta, lambda, theta, vega and rho.
