me and the girls are off to Edinburgh in March for a weekend, and one of the nights is fancy dress (general) but i am stuck for ideas of what to go as!! I want something quite different, but nothing tarty i.e. nurse, maid etc. (tooooooooo tacky), any ideas are welcome!!!!

I think you should all go 2 charity shops and find the worst wedding dresses!!!! get sum l plates and various other accessories and a pair of trainers be runaway brides like julia roberts

Did you watch Batman Returns on channel five last night?
If not, you missed a treat, during the film it showed batman/bruce wayne (keaton) and catwomen (schfeiffer) in a fancy dress ball.
The reason why i mention this ball, there were some wicked ideas you could of copied... some I personally would of never even thought about. My particular favourite was the woman dressed up as Mona Lisa.
The woman wore mainly black clothing however there was a picture frame and picture of mona lisa, cut out to allow the womans face to show through. Then Mona Lisas cut out face was used as a mask. It was a great idea.

How about going the completed hog, and going quite wild with this fancy dress outfit??!! Be unique!!!! the following is a few suggestions: a million. cover your self from head to toe in bin bags 2. placed on a lampshade on your head 3. fowl cage on your head 4. dress up as your fave rock superstar!

make a tutu, honestly every time i go out now on a fancy dress thing a wear a different tutu. they are muchus fun to wear and all so original, iv done
sports tutu (charity run)
bat tutu (halloween)
elf tutu (xmas)
cowgirl tutu (bday)
fairy tutu (NYE)
all had much fun and they look great,
you could also do pjs
get some classy chequed pjs and big fluffy slippers, much more original than the typical police lady!!

Dress as men. Should be good for a laugh! Men go to fancy dress sometimes as women, so why not the other way round?

Why don't you go as Mata Hari - wear a sexy tux and hold a long cigarette holder. Paint your lips red and look sexy....
Michael Jackson - put a blanket over your head, Just wear a suit .Fiona in shrek - with two plaits, you can get green body paint.
