Using Bobbi Brown Oil Free Foundation, and applying and blending in with my fingers....

Is this correct...? As my my face seems to be really oily/shiny looking for a couple of hours than its fine..!?

I don't think it has to do with the quantity I'm using because I don't really use alot, but it does go a long way

I don't want to look too made up, so I haven't been keen on using a the powder stuff.... Any advice?!

hello there, im a nurse but in my spare time i did a part time course for two years in make up. firstly you dont need to buy make up brushes or sponges. with you using expensive foundation like bobbi brown it would be a waste chick, it would soak up in the sponge, and you could buy a foundation brush from any shop but they are not too goo either. i have greasy skin, before applying your foundation you should wash your face, then use a toner with cotton wool, like clean and clear or maybe tea tree toner from the body shop. then apply your foundation with your fingers, let it dry a little for an min or two, then use some loose powder lightly to make it matt. drink plently of water, and maybe look at yr diet, but if you are of a half cast like myself then the oily skin could be in your genes x x x hope this helps chick. also i use esstee lauder foundation for oilyy skin and its brillx x x

Hmmm BB oil free foundation is good, I think if your skin is that oily, wash your face and use an astringent first (natural is best like Witch Hazel) and then apply a oil free moisuriser over ur face lightly....next instead of using fingers (which stimulate oil production as you blend the foundation in if your skin is oily) use a decent foundation brush BB has good foundation brushed which while not cheap are long lasting. ALWAYS use only a small wuantity onthe brush and let it sweep over your T-Zone and then blend outwards.

Dump the brush in a astringent solution to clean after each use:)

Using loose translucent powder to set foundation and get rid of any extra shine is always a good idea, again with a large brush:) just tap it at the powder case to get rid of any excess powder and lightly tap and then rotate and lightly brush, dont rub the bristles into your skin.

Last but not least, keep blotting papers in your handbag (you get oil control bloting papers at chemists and stuff) and when you notice shine just blot it away;)

Good Luck.

ps ALWAYS take your makeup off before bed:) and drink a tall glass of water:) Your skin will thank you the next morning:)

Use a make-up brush. They help you control how much goes on your face a lot more than fingers do. Plus, you won't get that oily streak on your face. Go to a MAC store, and ask them how to use a brush, it's almost like the motion you would use when you use a paintbrush, a light sweeping motion on your face. You can also get very light powders from MAC, which you can just dust over your foundation to stop it looking shiny. But their foundations are great anyway.

I would suggest buying a brush or a sponge to apply your foundation as you may be mixing the natrual oils from your fingers with your foundation.A good powder on top of your foundation if applied correctly should not leave you looking too made up.Urban decay and Benefit both have a great range of foundations which can be applied as little or much as you like. Both companies also have a great range of brushes.

hi

that would be nice... any product will do!

1. make sure you start on a clean canvass, hehhee.
base... use gentle cleanser... then toner. and your skin will be ready for make up. :)

2. use your Bobbi Brown liquid foundation then... apply liberally with finger tips or smoothen it with a sponge.:) then do the eye make up, contouring, blush...

3. then to have a natural look... and to make your foundation stay longer... and to make your skin appear fresher :) finish your make up with a LOOSE POWDER(transluscent powder ... any brand that is made for oily skin. any that suits your color... same as your foundation)... have a gooodieee powder brush... it will surely make you look fresh longer.

4. hehehe do your mascara... powder helps add volume too-hehehe. lips then

5. then retouch every 4 hours(depends) by lightly patting oilwith tissue or oil absorbent tissue... then brush oily parts with loose powder

have a great day

Well. First cleanse your face with any of Clean and Clear's exfloiation facial washes. Morning Burst works the best for me. Lancome and Channel work amazingly, but they are $expensive$ and liquid...which is really bad for your skin. Maybelline and Bare Minerals is sooooooo awesome for oily and acne prone skin. These products are affordable and work fantasticly. Jergins Natural Glow can even skin tone and help prevent acne. This also works well.

try using a make up sponge as the oil from your fingers will transfer to your face and they are good for blending, and they take off any excess.

Try applying with a make-up sponge for a less shiny finish as there can be oil-transfer from your fingers. Try with a dry sponge and with a slightly damp one to see which you prefer.

Try using a primer before applying your make up
or maybe give it a good wipe with a toner
