I am stuck at home today waiting for an engineer to arrive. I need to do some laundry and have run out of powder. Can I use washing up liquid?

I'm not sure what you mean by "washing up liquid", but soap is soap. If you mean dish washing liquid, I have done this many times and it's fine. The overflowing suds thing only happens on tv. Use any liquid soap the same way you would use liquid laundry detergent, but bear in mind that bath gel is designed for human skin and cut with various ingredients that render it less potent.

If you have a "high efficiency" front-load washing machine, definitely NO. They don't use enough water to rinse out sudsy detergent and will make more suds than the older top-loaders. I wouldn't recommend it anyhow--it would be hard to figure out how much to use without foaming all over or having to re-rinse stuff so it wouldn't make you itch. Might be hard on colors, too.

it relies upon on the type, some you utilize the ball to degree out the liquid then you definately placed it interior the drawer. with others you place the ball interior the drum and forget approximately on the subject of the drawer. it possibly tells you on the label of the bottle.

I wouldn't suggest it. I think it may produce to many suds and your clothes won't be rinse properly. I doubt it can hurt though.....maybe try and it and if it doesn't work you can re-wash them when you get some detergent.
