ie. there must have been billions of people in this world who would have given anything to have a long life, grow up, grow old etc. Shouldn't we view it as something we're privileged to have reached at all rather than something we're dreading.

i think that depends on how you age and what condition you're in at the time. i work with the elderly, and have found that people truly forget about their loved ones when they get up in age. personally, i wanna live to a ripe old age. it's too easy to die and it gets harder to live.

Last sentence, yes. I think it also has a lot to do with how much we really love life. People talk about the "quality of life" & while
growing old inevitably brings physical diminishment of one kind or another, there are many ways to enjoy the things we "have." I don't "dread" it any more than death. Of course I'd love to live forever! but these are things over which we have no control, nor can avoid. Our CHOICE is to see the benefits (there are) & find harmony in ourselves.

Yes, good thought, I just think of all the people who die of cancer young and never got to be old, even though growing older isn't easy, I do think it's a privilege.

old age is a blessing from God, if healthy.
but it says that God waited for 500 years while Noah built his ark, God waited for people to repent, but they would not.

So old age can be a Grace of God for men to repent in his lonsuffering and mercy.
