so far he`s just planted the seeds, but when they get bigger I might fall in love with one and want to take it home. Should he let me?

I would befriend the farmer now as he has just planted seeds-by developing a friendship now he will probably be open to letting you have one. Maybe you could help him a little as the puppies start to grow
You know-walk through the Fields-petting the little ones.
His ability to give you one is dependent on his yield therefore the more you help now the easier it will be tor the farmer to give one up

Don't forget though, a dog is not just for Christmas,....with a bit of luck there will be enough left over for sandwiches on Boxing day!

Corn Dogs are OK ..but Fairs pay top dollar for those ..so you might have to dish out some money !!

Only once he has established that you can give it a caring, loving home. Any convictions for animal crualty may ruin your chances.
