1. You might think it is the best way to serve humanity (like a nun?)

2. Possibly some people think virgins go to heaven

3. You might think you will be a Free person

(I can list many. But one good reason will be enough to do anything you consider to be noble)

Well, I looked on Google and found a FAQ about celibacy. Go see what they think, they give a lot of reasons. I listed the link below. Hope this helps!

As someone that isn't celebate, I'm going to attempt to answer this anyway...

*For someone who is saving their virginity for marriage, when you do decide to have sex, you are having it under great circumstances - you will be ready, you will be in love, you will be with someone who loves and respects you, you will be settled... A wonderful set of circumstances that the typical 'losing it' story doesn't have!

*For someone who chooses never to have sex for religious reasons, if they think they are bringing themselves closer to god by denying themselves sexual and emotional fulfillment, then good luck to 'em!

*For someone who chooses not to have sex for personal reasons, well not having to worry about pregnancy and the risks of STD's must be good, and we've all had times when we've thought that complete abstinence would be a hell of a lot less complicated!

However, given another go I would definitely stick to my choice! :)

I applaud celibacy. It gives me more time for myself, for making me the person I always wanted to become, "one day".Well, this is that "one day", I have reached that point in my life when I can proudly say say that I am what I always wanted to be.To be totally honest, though, I don't necessarily wanna miss out on a good thing (relationship) just because I believe in celibacy, but I will not give up what I have now for just anything.

I think a lot of people are celibate because they can't find sexual partners. I doubt if anyone over 21 would voluntarily choose to be so, unless they are in holy orders.

.
~ ~ Chance to ' go within your own self ' and find answers, enlightment. . . Focus on the mind, soul, not the body.
~ ~ Reconnecting, re-centering with the ' Universe '
~ ~ Re-discovering how to relate to another in a soulful way...not just sexual way.
~ ~ Living of the soul. . . not the body.
~ ~ Discovering ' orgasms ' of the heart / soul / mind...not just orgasms through sex.

Personally, I've discovered (when I'm in a relationship) how to experience all those I noted without giving up sex. Don't feel a person has to be celibate to awaken and feel the soul.
