why is studio 60 being replaced a week early, just after coming back on?

i think i heard studio is being replaced by the "black somethings", and they are doing it a week earlier than expected, starting tonight, Feb. 19? what's up with that. studio 60 is one of the best shows out there. it's fun, funny, and "intimate", without being vulgar, and lets you think about things with their different points of view.
I don't understand how they can pull this show and leave shows like the office and earl on. Sorry but both of those shows are insulting, to real office workers and to real "white trash"

I am concerned that the show will come back at all...even to finish out THIS season! Way too bad.

I found more info on the possible demise of Studio 60, in a San Francisco Chronicle article published yesterday, written by Tim Goodman.
Yes, they pulled it a week earlier than intended, because ratings dropped even lower after recent episodes. According to the artilce:
"It's unlikely to be renewed for a second season. And if "Studio 60" comes back to finish its six remaining episodes, it will have everything to do with the respect accorded Sorkin and nothing to do with a last-ditch effort to save it."...so it looks like SIX more episodes have been filmed that haven't aired. Which surprises me, because it so felt like wrap-up time last night (specifically in the way Harry suddenly did an about-face in dumping Luke and returning to Matt).

I disagree with the writer above. I don't think the Feb. 19 episode was a "wrap-up" at all. There were a lot of unanswered questions. What's to become of Matty and Harry? Now that she's dumped Luke, will she go back to Matt? Will he take her back? Will Jordan reveal to Danny the father of the baby? Will it matter? Will she have the baby?

Well, last week they announced that the last episode had the lowest ratings of all and decide to pull it a week earlier. Tonight will be the last episode for about a month. I really love the show too, but it doesn't look like it'll see a second season.

studio suks. office suks. earl suks. so far the only show that does not suk is heros. csi / law&order, et al. is watchable but starting to suk. season just started and we need new programing. bah.
