sometimes i get confused about " yes and no".

for example, some people say " im not an idiot" and you say " yes" , does it mean yes you are? or could mean yes you are right? that is, no you arent?

When a person says that he/she is not an idiot, the reply "YES" means that what is said is correct.It certainly does not mean" You are an Idiot"

It could be interpreted as Yes, you are an idiot. Better to say No, you aren't. A simple yes or no can cause confusion because it can be taken both ways.

Well its not very confusing if somone says yes you are an idiot that is what they think of you. And some people be saracastic n say wel noooo if sum1 sed r u a person they wud b sarcastic n say wel naaaa im a stone

that question is not answerable by either yes or no and it's not even a question, it's a statement but if you rephrase the sentence into "am i an idiot?" and you answer yes then you are one. makes sense?

That means definitely no you aren't! Trust me it has happened to me a lot of times.
