These days, a lot of plastic items have recycling marks which tell you what the material is, e.g. PP, PE, PS, PA. This tells you what the base polymer is. You can use your native cunning and resourcefulness to find out what these abbreviations mean. Left it a bit late if you need it tomorrow haven't you? Other things you might want to look up include free-radical, acid-catalysed, base-catalysed, protonated carboxyl, nucleophilic attack, delocalised electron, thermoset, thermoplastic, Ziegler-Natta catalyst, syndiotactic, antimatter, dilithium crystals, Schroedinger wave equation, Bakelite and nitrocellulose.
