I've been watching the Terminator movies and am amused by how dumb they are. In T2, the bad Terminator gets frozen by liquid nitrogen. Arnold KNOWS that it's only a matter of time before it melts and starts after them again. Yet, he still blows it to little pieces with his pistol. Does he not understand the concept surface area? Doesn't he know that if more surface area is exposed, it will unfreeze more quickly? On top that, he has the gall to say "We don't have much time" after SPEEDING UP the process that unfreezes it. What a stupid jerk robot.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? Does anyone know other moments where those stupid robots SHOULD know better, but don't???

Don't try and put the blame on the poor producer/writer people!!! They didn't pull the trigger!!! THE TERMINATOR DID!!! GOD that thing is so stupid!

They do what they're programmed to do.
If it's kill the enemy, they'll try no matter how implausible the manner of excecution.

The answer to your question is that the producers are making a movie for the entertainment of people and they dont go that deep into facts and figures as the movie is only meant to get bucks from the viewers , I think u got the point

What caused you to hate them so much?
Did you have a dream about the end of the world caused by the terminators and this is your only outlet because if so you need to form a resistance man.

Arnold was a "Terminator" cyborg (played by Schwarzenegger). Therefore, he would have similar thought processes as the other terminators.
