One of the great guitarists of our time; very tasteful, very creative.
I'm a lifelong guitarist, and I love all the great ones, but there's something about Gilmour's phrasing that can just raise the hair on your neck. He knows that it's not how loud you can crank the amp, nor how fast you play, but how much feeling you can put into the music.

David Gilmour used his physical talent (singing ability and guitar ability) to ride the coat tails of a true legend (Roger Waters). Waters was physically ugly yet his lyrics and musical talent were unmatched by anyone of the era. Gilmour was Waters's puppet.
