I think I will be goin sometime in August with my Boyf and another couple.
I was just wondering what it was like in Kardemena, I do know it's quite a lively resort but if anyone can offer any more advice on what the beaches are like, what the bars are like and is there a variety, is there plenty of activities, excursions to do..?

Thanx

I went to Kardemena a quite a few years ago. It was ok. It was pretty lively with lots and lots of bars but they were all pretty samey - touristy and cheap. We found one disco where we weren't the only ones dancing but it was quite a hike from the main town. The beach was ok, only went once because we had the use of a hotel pool near us. It was tough tracking down an authentic local food too. I think you'll enjoy yerselfs because there's a group of you - make you're own fun, don't rely on what's there and you'll be fine.

Kardamena is the most lively resort on the island, very 18 - 30 especially in August, if pubs and clubs are what you're after then this is the resort for you. There are so many excursions to go on, you'll be spoilt for choice, don't book through your rep you'll pay over the odds for the exact same trip that you will get from a local excursion office. If you hire quad bikes or motorbikes be very careful as insurance is always third party, most of the hire companies will tell you this but some may overlook it!! The beaches are lovely, August is very, very hot indeed and most hotels will charge extra for air con so check this out before you go. If Kardamena is too lively for you (not sure how old you are?) Tingaki or Kos town may be better choices.

Have fun!!!!

We went to Kardamena but it was about 10 years ago. We really enjoyed it, no complaints at all and the island itself is lovely. We went on quite a few trips across the island and on a boat trip. The beach near our hotel was lovely, clean, safe and clear water... There was plenty of good bars/restaurants back then so would imagine there will be plenty to do now.
Sorry I can't be more specific but I'm sure you'll have a great time.
