Obviously your IQ is high, which is a blessing and a curse. I too have terrible study habits, yet make really good grades. I have found that if I go to the library where all outside "distractions" are minimalized, I am then forced to STUDY instead of making excuses why I cannot..(turn your cell phone off too!).. If you study consistantly throughout taking a course, the information is retained. If you "power study" just to pass an exam, then the data is not stored for later use. Good Luck

Find the time of day when you study best. For me (and I suspect possibly for you too, since I always tended to be pretty rubbish in terms of my study skills) I've discovered that first thing in the morning is best... I get up, and then get whatever I need to get done out of the way before I'm allowed to do anything else. At all.

It might also help to identify your learning style so you can study in a way that's suited to it. Everyone has their own way they learn best - for some people it's visual, for others they need to hear information, others need to get in there physically and be doing something... you can find learning styles quizzes online that will help you work out which you are. Once you know this, you can direct your study to suit you better. (So if, for example, you learn visually, then you can put information into charts and diagrams or make yourself posters of the stuff you need to know... If you learn by hearing you could record your notes and listen them back...)

Hope this helps!
