Quality, practicality, price. Remember these things only last for a short period of their life. My son only fit his baby bath for 4 weeks after that he was too long for it. If you are buying a bouncer buy one that turns into a toddler rocking chair, you will get value for money. When buying the cot get one that converts into a bed so that you can use it for a few years. When buying a car seat get one that goes from newborn to 4 years. The carry cots don't last very long.

Quality - they outgrow them quickly, but they need to last until that time comes

Brand - it's quite clear that some brands just won't make it through one or two washes

Price - no child should wear clothes that cost as much as a mortgage payment
