no wax and tile floors can be cleaned with 1/2 c baking soda in a bucket of water. mop and rinse. you may be using the wrong type of cleaner and not re mopping with clear water, that is why the shoe prints are appearing. i like using Lysol All Purpose cleaner. follow directions on proper amounts to mix, makes all the difference.

NO SHOES Make every one wear clean slippers or socks indoors including guests - i have tiles too and they are white and i mop about 3 times a day - but i have a 2 year old and a 10 month old - nothing stays clean and tidy. also when its hot and you have a cold drink - prevent the condensation dripping from the glass on to the floor by using a stubbie cooler - around the glass - little patches of water get walked through and spread and the dirt from shoes and feet gets spread with it.

I've been told never to mop white tiles. Vacuum regularly and clean up spills straight away. Mopping makes the grout dirty which makes your tiles look dirty. No shoes is a good idea and walking around in your socks will help polish up your tiles.
