Uh, no, private corporations don't have a lottery, and if they did, the internet and the general public would be the last place they'd advertise such a contest. Microsoft gives donations from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which largely develops technology for minority youth interests in America and improving health, technology and science efforts in third-world nations. So no Microsoft lottery. Money from the Gates Foundation is called a grant, and you can't win one. You have to earn one from your work with and around technology to benefit others.
The internet itself isn't a corporation, but a set of standards that are implemented by communications companies and service providers to enable it's connection. The W3C group sets those standards, but they are a non-profit group: they will be glad to take your money as a donation, but it's not necessary as major universities, corporations and private interests bankroll their work. So, no, there's no internet lottery either.

If you have received any e-mail claiming you have won a lottery or random drawing, 99% of the time it is a scam and it will cost you your money. By using the private information gathered from you they can definitely cost you money instead of earning/winning it.
So avoid it.

If they want your banking details, it is almost certainly a scam. Don't give your account number to them, or anyone like them, or it will be soon emptied. Tell them to send a check! Don't send money!
