How many people do you know who have had a tubal reversal?

It's not THAT common - unless you have been specifically hanging out with people who have had it done.

Be that as it may, the OVERALL sucess rates depend on the age of the mother - the older she is the lower the success rate. It also depends on the method if the initial ligation - whether it was the clip, the ring, or actually cutting the tubes and tying back. Lastly, it depends on the skill of the microsurgeon who does the job.

Supposing you get a good surgeon who does the job in a proper hospital and under a strong electron microscope:

For women under 30, about 75% of them will become pregnant and deliver a live infant.

For women in their early thirties, about 70%

For women in their late 30's, about 60%

For women over 40, about 35%.

But this is OVERALL - not in the first month out.

FYI tubal reversal is more successful overall than IVF.

Check out this doctor's website. He is number 1 in my book of performing the procedure of untieing women's tubes and he will not give up until you are pregnant. I know five people that went to him, had their tubes untied and all were pregnant within a year.
There are people that even go to him after having their tubes untied by another doctor and then they end up pregnant after seeing this wonderful doctor.
