Instead of asking that way, it would be pertinent to ask the question whether we as citizens enjoy whatever privileges are extended to us through the constitution of India. If that is the question, then we are not considered citizens, worse still, we never were, at any point of time in this democratic nation. With all pervading instruments of public access, its high time that we did away with representation-form of democracy. Direct democracy would be the only solution, if we are to free the future citizens from slavery and misery.

I hope that you are not saying that it is a not a democratic country.
I feel only onething. What are we doing something be the citizens of a democratic country.
If you something in news about someone. Are you raising your voice against him. If his of one party, then the other party will raise voice against him.
Do you vote for an individual or party, in elections. If you vote for an individual based on his ability, will he or his party do something for the development of that place. Only the high command will decide. And the decision can be supported by the opposition also, if it is a good decision. Nothing like that.
People have become selfish. and the poor does not know what to do when something happens. Everyone is bothered about earning money. No time left to think about leaders and power. Only the rich and party people are interested in politics.

We are a democratic nation as we are able to voice our grievances in public. Action wise we have no rights; only the rich and the powerful enjoy that freedom.

On paper 100%. In practice, Less than 50%. Once you elect somebody, he/she behaves like a Dictator, becomes inaccessible except for a chosen few, assumes that he/she alone knows what is good for the country.

Freedom for everything, that is what the Indians are enjoying. The height of the freedom cross the limit now. That is why they plant the bombs, etc., in their own country.
