I like the way you think. I am looking for that answer too.For now I think life is a chance for you, me and others. Its a chance to find whats good and bad for us. Until the day we die, its good to find out about everything. Life is a journey, not a destination. The destination will be after we die?

Hey Kaylea,
If someone is suffering with cancer and has agonizing pain, hopefully that pain can be alleviated without going that final step. Pain, like life, can end just as suddenly as it begins. We don't know what the future will bring and to end your life because of your situation at the moment may lose many great moments ahead of us. If I had a crystal ball and knew that the rest of my life, however short or long, was going to pain filled and without any joy, I might buy your argument... but that crystal ball doesn't exist. So I'd try to get through another day and hope for a better one tomorrow and in the meantime try to take any small blessings to heart.

Peace

Wish you had taken some time to phrase your question properly, because it has the potential of being such an interesting one. I think the question you are asking is what is the purpose of life? Honestly don't know. We get up and do the same things over and over, day after day. It gets so boring after a time, and then happiness is so fleeting. We thank God we didn't die, but what would have happened if we had died, and do we curse God if we had died. I would hate for (OK I know that sounds silly), anyone to kill me or to be run over by a bus, and if I went to a doctor and he said I should take a certain medicine and then I wouldn't die, then I would take it. But I have nothing against dying in my sleep or anything like that. Death is only bad for the people that love you and depend on you, that you leave behind....I think.

The point of life is to live, pure and simple.

Life is a series of chemical and biological processes that cannot be perpetually sustained.

Scientists say that at the end of the universe (heat death, big crunch, whatever poison you choose) the increasing entropy will make it impossible for any life to exist. Everything will cease.

I wish there were a more fulfilling answer, but there is not.

So life is meaningful only if you give it meaning. The purpose of life is to live and to find your own meaning as a being on this planet. People suffer, but they can also live, love, learn, learn, honor, and cherish the things and people who matter to them. As long as our life exists, there is beauty and wonder and happiness that can make our experiences meaningful.

And that's pretty damn spectacular, if you asked me. :-)

Kaylea, you have asked a serious question.
This is not about a tavern named after the Queen.
Children, yes
We are all children.

Though I have seen more than half a century with these eyes,
And I have studied on this purpose-of-life question at length and many times,
The best answer I can give is each is alive to "know oneself".
Who or What are we? We long to know.

Ohh, we are not the flesh or any perishable thing, our vehicle and illusion.
For one 'Doubt' says so, for another it is 'Faith', but
Death's grasp is not so tight as to end our journey to knowing
And that journey may not get any easier by dying.

There may be no better way to know oneself
than to suffer the tribulations while maintaining a loving attitude toward others.
So regardless of misery, hang on for the better day,
And ask yourself, "Who or What am I?" - Know yourself!

Suffering tests the soul which makes you stronger and develop character. The point of life is to build on an eternal foundation and develop lasting relationships with God and others.

Let The King approach this best answer. Now the answer above me is nothing wrong but this is the best answer!

The point of life is to make sure it continues!!
In other words REPRODUCE!! continue the life span, your family tree,....bloodline!!

Just look at the animals: Males are hell-bent on mating with the females just to get a nut,...they do this to continue life!!

now in the meantime, between time,....yes enjoy it make it what ever you want because the cosmos are the limit!!

Saying that there's "no point in life since we are going to die anyways" is nihilism--a bad philosophy.

Just enjoy life. We don't know the "meaning of life" but every individual can give meaning to their lives.

Life is suffering, making it worthwhile is the teaching that life gives us, how we develope ourselves by the dramATIC EVENTS OF OUR daily life...the only thing we can be absolutely certain about us in life is that we are going to die. Maybe at 91, mabe in a year or maybe tomorrow. What are you going to do today??

LIVE!!!

Darling, the fact that we are going to die makes life all the more meaningful. All that suffering, we learn from that, and it gives those who are lucky enough to avoid it more reason to be grateful they're alive.
