Americans call jelly Jello.

If you're talking about food I think you mean Gelatin. We call it Jello, even though Jello is a trademarked name.

Here in the US jelly is a fruit spread, preserves, etc.

Americans call it Jell-O, usually fruit-flavoured gelatin. (Try it with some whipped cream, it's nice!). To Americans, "jelly" is marmelade.
