Personaly I think it would be a great idea. Other religions as well if they show the same kind of hatred.

Some say that it is a tiny minority that are extremists. Well I live where the largest muslim nation is my neighbor and i do know this area very well and it is not a minority at all. Islam is intolerant to any other religion and will do most anything to destroy it. Fact.

I know it won't happen or at least not for some time yet. It is time for the muslems that claim they are for peace to do something about those of their faith that do not. They say they don't like but then they do protect them because they say they are muslims. Hipocrits.

How to start a global war 101.
While you're about banning Islam, how would it be if the entire Middle East decided to ban Christianity?
That'd be cool, eh?
That would result in a nuclear nightmare.
How about you go learn a bit about the other religions who have adherents just like you (assuming that you're a god fearing Christian here...not many others are THAT intolerant!!!) and learn a bit of tolerance and respect for their beliefs?
That is THE way to a peaceful planet!

Are you insane?
Firstly you want to ban a religion because of its extremist fringes? Okay, why not ban all of christianity because of the KKK. they claim to be christian?
Secondly, where as now there is a tiny minority of muslims with extreme view/practices, banning it would turn that into a vast majority.

Everyone who answered positivitly has made me severly depressed about the state of the human race. And here is a question for you all.... How do you go about banning a religion? Maybe you could start by restricting worship and then after a while round the people who you believe to be muslim up in some sort of camp? Where have i heard this before?

Islam itself is not a religion that expresses hatred...the problem is that extremists took Islam to a different level and mis-interpret their Holy Book. also, if outlawed, the US can no longer brag that their people have the Freedom of Expression, as religion falls into this concept...and by outlawing this religion...it would cause more hatred from the Islamic extremists and the US could be in more danger. Plus, even though it would be outlawed...how are people going to control who practices what in their homes?

NO. The USA is particularly about freedom of religion, among other things. Our constitution guarantees it.
If they outlawed a religious group, who would be next? None of our freedoms would be any longer safe.
By the way, a person's freedom to be Atheist depends upon the freedom of religion!

It seems some sort of control is needed, but what would that eventually lead to. We may end up with a police state that controls every thought & deed. Oops, sorry we've got that now.

Yes. Is the only way to protect inocent people. Their religion says they have to go to Meca At leats once in their live, so we shold deport all muslims to meca and leave them there put a fence around the middle east and that it. They can leave in a Utopia.

In theory it sounds alright. Only problem is once you start banning them you start eroding the freedoms we fight for.
