www.spinningbabies.com please before you let them do the csection give this a try. it is possible to turn a breach baby, its also possible to vaginally deliver any breach except a transverse. position is most important. delivering on hands and knees, standing or squatting is the best to get a breach baby out.
my second was breach the day before she was born (3 weeks past due date at nearly 9 lbs) in the 12 hrs from ultrasound to birth she turned herself. give your baby time and a chance

A baby is pretty much fully cooked at 37 weeks and after this they just hang around and put on weight.

If there is a risk of a breech birth then they will usually book you in a week or two before your due date to try and get you as close to term as possible but minimise the risk of you going into labor spontaneously, which may mean they have to try and deliver naturally. And a natual breech delivery is very difficult, very painful and a tad dangerous for mother and baby - a c-section is, count for count, a much safer option.

They will check on your cervix etc for ripening and make a judgement from there.

Good luck!!
