This is a fundamental question. As fundamental as .... even .... God.!
If some one knew what is real "happiness" then the other small , small happiness can be measured in comparison. The so called physical pleasures are just indicators to the humans what is ( or can be) happiness. But we humans get mesmerised by these small pleasures . mistaking the tree for the woods. We donot go beyond.
True happiness , I would say, is that which will is beyond the physical pleasures. In fact there in no equivalent english word for total happines. Bliss comes a distant second , may be.
In the Sanskrit language of India Total happines is " aanand" as againgst physical happines, "sukh"

you must first define happiness. If happiness is the merely ephemeral moments of physical pleasures, then yes. But really what happens is that his leads directly to the unsatisfactory as it is not lasting and produces a feeling of disappointment 'is that all there is' afterwards if one attaches to it as HAPPINESS and expecting it to make one feel good for more than a brief time.
Therefore, one can say that true 'happiness' is closer to a mental state in which this state of 'unsatisfactoriness' is missing. It is a more stable and peaceful state. It is also impossible to find if one is thinking about 'me' all the time and chasing after it. Move your focus away from yourself. Works for me anyway. Good luck!

Physical pleasure dosent last and it definately wont make you happy for long.at first it might be fun but after some time youll get tired of all that and it wont mean a thing to you.to be happy the other person your with has to be happy and complete you.there has to be love for both of you that you share for each other genuinely.thats all the happiness youll get.Love, joy, and comunication between the two will make you have physical pleasure that will last and make you happy forever

Physical pleasures are all stimulated and produced from a chemical and nerve reaction that develops in the brain , they re called endorphins, I think. And then they are sent through the body to other parts thus creating the sense of pleasure.

If only physical pleasures make you happy then you'll be searching for things to make you happy all your life. If you want happiness that really lasts then it has to be through doing things (for others especially). The something that gives you satisfaction (that you've achieved and accomplished something), is the something that will truly give you lasting happiness...

If you are a true hedonist, pleasure will always be your number one goal.
If, however, you are looking for something to get in synch with your inner/higher power, then humility is a great place to start.

physical pleasure, yes!, pleases you a lot and makes you happy. But you need to have a safe work done or else it might prove to be the most fieriest mistake!
