1-depends...usually if I see the movie many times..then I will pick up on it
2-Natural Born Killers, Great Expectations, Stealing Beauty, City of Angels
3-rock bands. NIN does some good stuff for movies. Pearl Jam, etc.
4-I have all the soundtracks previously named...and several others.

1) Yeah, the soundtrack plays as much a part in conveying the film's message as the images on the screen.
2) Donnie Darko, O Brother Where Art Thou and Amelie
3) I just listen and enjoy - don't really pay attention to the names attached to the work, unfortunately.

It depends on the music, if it's good I'll listen to it. Gotta say my favorite film for sound is Snatch. While I don't really get into composers, I own a number of soundtracks from Snatch to Valentine, Saturday Night Fever to Hackers, Desperado to Swordfish.
