Rarely will you be able to get an job (meaning get paid). You can volunteer (if over 16yrs) and after a couple years, a position might open up, and then you will get first dibs on it since you know the facility so well.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the answer you are looking for but I think that you should go to the animal shelter and ask the managers or the person incharge how to go about it. They'll probably say to fill out some kind of form and ask you about your experience with animals. Mabye they'll offer you small job to start, like sweeping/cleaning cages then you'll build up to doing lots of things round the place.

I think that you should just volunteer for a job there. Its always great to try to give a animal a home, and the shelter might need to save money.

You can apply to be a volunteer all you have to do is go down to the animal shelter and fill out and application.
