Howdy, I have a question that is probably asked a lot, but I figured what the heck I'll give it a shot heh heh. I have City of Heroes/Villains installed on my computer which I play pretty frequently. These are my computer specs:

Motherboard: Soyo P4X400 Dragon Lite
Processor: Intel Celeron 2.70GHz
Video Card: PNY GeForce 7600 GS
RAM: 1.75 GB

I also have a few programs called DirectX and Forceware installed on my comp that I've been told is supposed to speed up my gaming experience.

Aside from upping my memory to the max (3GB) is there anything I can do to lessen the lag on my computer when I play CoX? Or any game for that matter. Also, would it make much of a difference if I got a new processor?

At this point I have no idea how DirectX or Forceware is even helping me, or how to use them properly. Thanks all for the help!

First of all, what do you define as "lag" is that an event that the game stops responding and then after a second you're dead (Or something to that effect).

Or perhaps "lag" as in the game runs jerky.

If it's the first one, there's no need to upgrade your hardware, you might need to change your Internet Service provider.

If you need help in anything, you can simply IM me in Yahoo Messenger, I would be happy to help you out. :)

If it's the second one. Then perhaps a processor upgrade is in order. Or perhaps a Windows reinstall.

If you any more help, you can easily IM me via Yahoo Messenger, I would be happy to help. :)

well basically yes, your problem is with your CPU, if you have the cash to change then plz do. your pc specs sounds really good except for the cpu. other than that what you can do mean while is to try to lower your resolution settings from inside the game. like texture depth and the resolution and the texture mapping..etc this will sure help you alot on makeing the game as smooth as possable. Best of luck
