Hiya,
It's good you're being referred now, that means you are hopefully nearer to getting your baby!
You can expect to have bloods taken at different days of your menstrual cycle, this will be checking the levels of various hormones to establish if you are ovulating and if not, why not.
You will have a smear test and probably clamydia.
You will most likely have an internal scan to see how your ovaries look and if they are polycystic.
Some clinics still carry out a post coital test. This is a test performed within hours of you and your partner having sex to see what affect, if any, your cervical mucas has on his sperm.
He will obviously be given a sperm analysis.
You may be offered a laparoscopy. This is where a small incision is made and your abdomen filled with air so the surgeon can have a good look around to make a diagnosis.
There is also a hysteroscopy. This is where a camera is inserted vaginally to have a look around.
You may not need most of these, you may find your bloods show a slight hormone imbalance and all you need is a little pill to get you going. If its more serious, don't loose heart, I took 6 years and 8 IVF's to get my first baby, my second was conceived with lots of drugs and now I am pregnant with my third, completely naturally!
Best of luck

They will do a huge battery of tests on you and your husband. If something comes up abnormal they may be able to treat the problem with a med. I had your problem and my hubby and I went through infertility treatments. They can time your ovulation with meds so you know exactly when to do the deed! If that doesn't work there are other fertility meds like clomid and injections which have a little higher probability of multiple birth. The last step is invitro which is extremely expensive. We got pregnant (with twins!) from the injections. Best of luck.

they're going to do a extensive battery of tests on you and your husband. If some thing comes up weird and wonderful they are in a position to handle the problem with a med. I had your problem and my hubby and that i went via infertility remedies. they might time your ovulation with meds so which you already know precisely whilst to do the deed! If that would not artwork there are different fertility meds like clomid and injections that have a sprint larger risk of assorted delivery. The final step is invitro it incredibly is relatively costly. We have been given pregnant (with twins!) from the injections. maximum suitable of high quality fortune.

There's nothing I can really add as everybody has given you pretty good advice. One thing nobody mentioned though is the waiting you might have to do. When you are actually receiving treatment (ivf or whatever is best for you) you have to go at regular intervals but our first consultancy where they ask a load of question was in October and the next available appointment to do blood test etc. was January! Maybe it won't be like that at your clinic but it's best to prepare yourself for the wait just incase because all of us in this position definitely know that the waiting and waiting is the real bugger don't we? LOL

hi it's not as bad as you think it might be, what happens is you go there you have to fill out a form with questions such as how often do you have sex, do you have periods ect.
then the gyno will then usually send you away for some tests
blood tests (i had loads full blood count, and loads of others) i had
an ovary scan as well (you pob will too) also you have to have a lap and dye test (this is where they test your tubes to see if they are blocked or anything) and a sperm test for you partner.
after all this you will have to go back to the gyno and he will talk about what is wrong and you will prob be put on something like clomid depending whats wrong.
i do have to say as you have irregualr periods i reckon you could have polysistic ovary syndrome (i have it as well) i'd google it and see if you have any of the other symtoms. while your going through the process of all the tests i'd get as healthy as i could if i was you like quiting the fags (if you smoke) and trying to eat more healthy and be a healthy weight (if you arnt)
good luck

I had blood tests to check I was ovulating. My husband had to provide sperm samples and I then had an internal examination. When my husbands results came back ok and I was ovulating they did a laparoscopy (under general anaesthetic) and found I had endometriosis and lasered it away. Then they put me on Clomid tablets for 6 months to boost my fertility. The next step is 3 rounds of IUI then one go of IVF on the NHS. I know it sounds like a lengthy process but I'm hoping it will all be worth it in the end! Good luck to you both :)

my sister in law attended a fertility clinic for her irregular periods and ovulation problems and she had the folowing tests;
Blood tests
ultrasound scan
smear test
height and weight charted
semen analysis for her partner
She was also put on the waiting list for a procedure to check if she has any problems with her fallopian tubes and is still waiting for this appointment but here at our hospital the waiting time is 6mths.
She was also given 3mths supply of clomid 50mg, this is a medication that helps ovualtion occur however she has had no success on it. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that you get the baby that you long for.

I have been trying for two and a half years (so i know how it feels)
I was passed to local hospital that carried out two sperm tests to check mobilty, count and morthology i then had a die test were they check that there is no blockages in my tubes, i was then prescribed clomid for 6 months as i two was not ovulating you take these day 3 to 5 of you period and they make you ovulate.
We were then sent to a specilaized NHS hospital they ran more tests on my partner, they have advised us that we have got un explained fetility. therfore we have been put on the two year waiting list for IVf (it is different for evey pct)
we have just been advised we are going to get three goes at IUI and putting me back on clomid
feel free to contact me if you want to talk to someone inthe same boat

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/x1x2e
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.
