I had a leopard gecko once, and it would always hiss and stuff at me if i tryed to touch it, I never gave it a chance to be able to bite me, but I would like to get one again, and was just wandering, if you get bit by these lil guys, does it hurt pretty freakin bad, or what? I know stupid question, just curius!

Truthfully, no. I work at a pet store and when I close down the reptile habitat before we close the store, I like to spend a minute or two with the leopard geckos. I've only been bit once or twice, and it doesn't really hurt at all. You'll feel some pressure but that's about it.
For future reference, just make sure their habitat is set up and in very good order before you actually get him/her in there. I'm not sure about ALL reptiles, but I do know that leopard geckos don't respond too great to change, give the terrarium about a day to warm up and become a habitat, not just a warming plate. Ok?
I hope all this helps. If you have anymore questions just email me (nsaneknutkase@yahoo.com or smckinst@capital.edu)...

It relies upon. opposite to what others have pronounced leopard geckos do have teeth and can chew fairly confusing. Having only been bitten 30min in the previous i'm in a position to in my view attest to that. My gecko bit me jointly as i grew to develop into into putting it lower back into the enclosure and ended up giving me 3 extremely deep cuts that bled freely. no longer some thing somewhat antiseptic spray and a bodily effective bandage can no longer fix regardless of the reality that. that is no longer incredibly painful and ought to heal up over 2 weeks or so. indoors the meanwhile i'm going to be dealing with my geckos greater desirable many times as this chew is as a results of a loss of interaction over a very busy few months ;)

I've been bit by them on more than a few occasions at the pet store I used to work at, it wasn't too bad. Surprises you more than anything, I don't think they even drew any blood. I did get tagged by an adult fat-tail gecko, and that opened up my thumb pretty good right next to my nail. Overall, if you get a sub-adult or baby and hold them often, any bites you get won't hurt much. Good luck!

I've never been bitten by one but I doubt it would hurt that much! It would be enough for you to snatch your hand back which is the whole idea. If you get another one that hisses and huffs just ignore it and pick it up gently. My bearded dragon always huffs at me, but he's never bitten me yet! If you are that worried wear gloves until you are confident. That way the lizard will never know you were worried about picking it up and wont learn that if it hisses you go away. Hope this helps.
