If you're on the home stretch, nearly ready to birth and everything, could a nasty fall really send you into a miscarriage?

And don't worry, everyone, nothing happened, I was just curious, as I've heard both sides: falling can't hurt at all, and also falling is bound to send you into a screaming bleeding out-and-out disaster. I wondered what everyone here thought. :)

It could send you into labor. If you're late in pregnancy then you give birth, not miscarry. You could potentially injure the baby and the baby may die in utero, and that would be classed as a stillbirth.

A miscarriage is usually only defined if the baby dies in utero but would not be able to live outside the outside the uterus anyway - at about the 23-24 week mark (depending on the law where you are in the world).

Did something happen?

depending on the fall its hard to say. if you are far along in the pregnancy a fall could send you into labor. early in the pregnancy can lead to miscarriage. only if the fall kills youb then its a higher chance your baby will die late in pregnancy.

It can cause serious harm to the baby inside-the further along you are in your pregnancy. Are you concerned about this happening? Why? If you are in the really cold weather part of this country, please stay indoors as much as you can, and when you go out, please have someone accompany you, to hold onto as well. If you have already fallen, and are concerned about the baby, please call your dr. asap. And get seen, to check on you and the baby. I wish you and your baby the best. Take care.
