Next to Sachin Tendulkar in the record of most centuries are the following players:

1) S.T. Jayasuriya ( 23 centuries)
2) R.T. Ponting ( 22 centuries)
3) Saurav Ganguly (22 centuries)

Rest all the players are below 20 century mark. Hence I do not think anybody can break the record of 41 centuries scored by Sachin Tendulkar in ODI if not for ever atleast for many years to come.

ricky ponting has the potential but at the rate he is going he cant he wud have to play almost 540 matches but by the time he would have to retire. the rest of the players on the list are too old and will retire veri soon. Maybe in mani years to come batsmen lyk hussey and k.pieterson can do it as their averages are pretty high

i'd decide to maintain ODI's out of this communicate as there are established transformations to the policies so as that it's not even attainable to evaluate 2 centuries made via the comparable batsman against the comparable opposition or maybe on the comparable venue in the event that they're aside via 3-4 years. although, there is consistent with hazard some experience if one compares lifetime achievements of two gamers as their difference from the respective 2d ultimate from their own era. As to attempt cricket, you're actually on the dot while saying that based on the present style and value of scoring of a participant, it may be deceptive to extrapolate a possibly lifetime fulfillment. style is non everlasting and subsequently extrapolation leaves significant scope for aberration. Achievements of Sachin is as plenty a mirrored image of his type and ability, because it relatively is of his sturdiness (which may even matter on the class and style of modern compatriots). Kallis has of path come very close, yet i think of he won't be waiting to pass Sachin's checklist as Sachin would stay lively for some greater time and meanwhile Kallis would grow to be bored or stamina (psychological besides as actual) or additionally be dropped through declining overall performance in favour of an upcoming youthful expertise. we've seen that Kallis does not command the form of invincibility opposite his national selectors and Board as Sachin does in India.

Very few people are as century-conscious as Sachin.

Other players score bang-bang and get out trying to help their team win.

But our Indians (esp sachin) seem concerned about their individual records only.

That is why most individual records are in the name of Indians, while India as a team has achieved little.

I Think no, because sachin is a one of the experienced and finest
player in the world history. He has scored most runs in one day cricket and has scored many centuries ,which are highest. He is now in great form too.
But other fantastic players like -
Rickey ponting,
Sanath jayasuriya,Brian lara and inzimam-ul-haq are the players
who could be somewhat competetors of sachin.I am a cricket fan too.

Honestly, I am not proud of his records. I would have been if India is in a great position. That includes Ganguly and others too.

For me so many personal records and milestones do not matter unless India wins.

Ponting's records are more appropriate than Sachin's or Lara's because they put Australia in top form.
