Do universities actually keep records of who has gone to their schools? or got kicked out from their schools?

Now maybe. But what about decades ago, where information systems was not developed?

Their records will be kept by the governing authority who preside over the examinations.
They will have been given information by the university that the person has attended the certain course, and that they can sit the exam. Everything is now in the hands of the examination authority, and they do the papers and mark them, which can then be checked up on.

Yes. ALL colleges and universities keep records of who has gone to their schools, and who has received a degree. No matter how many years ago. Regardless of whether or not it was before information systems and computer records were developed.

There is a central register and always has been, check cert to see issuing body and number of cert , check with them, how ever they may request who's asking ,if you do personnel work its no problem

They always have had records ... recent ones are easier to find ... older ones might take some time.
