Since everybody have approached the answer with differently, i am using trigonometry.for all three methodes,pl. visit::
http://www.mathopenref.com/rhombusarea.html
Calculation:
All sides of a rhombus are equal.
diagonal intersects eachother at right angles.so there are 4 right angled triangles.
Let us consider top right triangle having adjecent side 24/2 cm and hypoteneous 13 cm.
____
/____ /

here,draw 2 diagonals and take right side top triangle
so, cos theta=adjacent side/hypoteneous
cos theta=12/13
theta=22.62
now, sin theta=opposite side/hypoteneous
sin 22.62=opposite side/13
opposite side=13*0.3846
opposite side=5.0 cm
now,
2*opposite side=Diagonal no. 2(pl. refer diagram)
2*5=Diagonal no. 2(pl. refer diagram)
Diagonal no. 2(pl. refer diagram)=10cm.
now,
Area of a rhombus
=1/2*d1*d2
=1/2*10*24
=1/2*240
=120 cm^2

Diagonals = 24 and d
s = side = 13
A = area

A = 24d/2 = 12d

The bisectors of a rhombus bisect each other perpendicularly. By the Pythagorean Theorem

13² - (24/2)² = (d/2)²
169 - 144 = (d/2)²
25 = (d/2)²
5 = d/2
10 = d

A = 12d = 12(10) = 120

side=13cms
therefore, all sides= 13 cms
diagonal=24
midpoint of the diagonal is at 24/2 = 12
use pythagoras theorem
12 square+[ ] square= 13 square
144+[ ] = 169
[]= 169-144square root
=sq. root of 25
=5
one diagonal is 5+5=10
another diagonal=24
area of a rhombus is 1/2 d1 d2
=1/2x 24x 10
120sq.cms

1st:one side is 13 so all side become: same.{property of rhombus}

13cm=all sides
The Formula for finding out the area of a rhombus = ½ *d1*d2
Here d1 and d2 are the two diagonals of the rhombus.

if we take rhombus as ABCD then and the midpoint of the intersecting diagonals as E then triangle = ABE is a Right Angle triangle .and by hypotenuse method :>
d1=AC and d2=BD
Diangol is bisected so =12cm
(13)square - (12)square=169-144=(25)root=5cm =>D2=10cm

therefore Area =½*24*10=120cm2
