He is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I really respect his in ring ability. Not only is he athletic but entertaining to watch. As a Latino, I have always been inspired by his positive representation of Hispanics. Whether it was the LWO angle in WCW or his feud with JBL last year, Rey has universally represented the hard work ethic and strong faith commonly associated with Latinos, as well as acting as a foil to negative stereotypes perpetrated by others such as Eddie.

Just as an aside to Eddie, he was a phenomenal ring performer. I fell in love with the frog splash because of his work. His in ring character, even some of his face stints, put me off though. His portrayal of all Latinos as liars, cheaters and stealers was not something that sat well with me. It upset me deeply to learn of his death, as I had grown up watching him.

I really wish Rey had won the World Championship under different circumstances. I had always believed that he should hold such a title, but I don't really think it right that his push was mainly attributed to the death of Eddie. I'm not sure if the numerous story lines and angles that spurred over the past year and a half regarding Eddie's Legacy have been befitting to good taste or honor. I still haven't forgiven Randy Orton for his compliance in the "Eddie's in Hell" promo he cut.

I've gotten off on a tangent. Bottom line is I've followed most of Rey Mysterio Jr. career, from ECW to WCW to the WWE. I even remember the time he lost his mask to Kevin Nash. Boy that was really weird looking back on that. Of the many Latino celebrates there are today, he is the one that makes me most proud of my heritage.

I like him because he is a great high-flying wrestler. He deffinatley has ring abilities that Eddie didn't have. The only problem is stripping him of the title, and putting him into a feud with Chavo and Vikie.
