it varies from woman to woman. the main reason why it hurts so much is because some woman have heard from others that it hurts, so during your first time, your body tenses up and your muscles arent relaxed. the best thing to do is to breathe deeply, take it easy and just relax. sex is supposed to be fun. dont stress over it. it is completely normal for discomfort the first time. if it hurts, just tell your man to take it slower, also, lube works well. And for the poster who said that you shouldnt do it if you dont want the pain, that is a bad answer. I can understand your fear, as I had it as well, but believe me hun, it gets better the more you do it. so relax, use lube, and have fun.

It depends. If you have mastrubated and inserted an object of some kind (I'm being serious) like a dildo, or fingers, etc- you probably won't hurt at all. If you have been wearing tampons, that wll also help. If you have ever had a pap smear, you probably know what it feels like to have that area stretched. If you have done none of the above, you can expect to feel a little pain. Its not excruciating- more like a bandaid beind ripped off or a paper cut. Either way, use lots of lubricant and a CONTRACEPTIVE.

yes for some girls it varies, I have personally experienced 2 virgins, and it hurt for both of them.. one for about 20 minutes and the other for about 30. The next time with either of them was painless and enjoyable the entire time.
Their pain wasn't bad enough for them to want to stop though*

Not if the guy is gentle with you, but if he's like an animal then yes. It may be a little uncomfortable at first, but once you get used to it - it's great.
