emo is short for emotional i think. everyon is emotiona so does that mean everyone is an emo.
the whole emo genre/scene/stereotype has gone out of hand and i believe it has been dead for quite a while now. people are dressing like these so called 'emos' just to fit in as it is the latest fad and ill be quickly gone in a matter of time.
emo bands are popular because they sing about a theme that effects everyne in the whole world - death. they will stay around whether you like it or not.
some of my fav bands are what you so call emo like my chemical romance and i am tire of being labelled as an emo ever when the people that are calling me this havent even heard or listened to them.

Emo is short for emotional.
In a nut shell, Emo is just a way to give young kids an excuse to harp on their problems and subconsciously beg for attention rather than learning about life and how sometimes they just need to get the ***** over it. They borrow the overused black "goth" look and then add in their pop of absurd colored makeup to their face as a pathetic attempt to be "different." Bad news for them...... if you're not the only one doing it, then you're NOT different!
Emo people take the term "depression" and attempt to make it seem cool and oh-so glamorous. They claim to be so out of it that their anti-love ridden and can't bare to go on in life so some even take the next step and cut themselves.

Emo is slang for "emotional". This is typically defined by people, mostly teens, wearing black clothing and long hair that comes in front of their faces. This is not to be confused with "gothic" which is a whole different genre.

EMO is an abbrevation for emotional. it refers to the way of how one person dresses, the gestures, and music. by the way, emo means DEATH or SUICIDAL.. im emo.. =)
