There are several types of DJs.

Radio DJ - Self explanatory.

Scratch DJ - Primarily Hip-Hop DJs, they do a lot of scratching when they DJ.

Club DJ - Primarily just a DJ that beat matches songs in a dance club. Although a good club DJ does a lot of mixing & maybe some scratching.

Mix DJ - A DJ that combines songs by mixing to create new songs.

Production DJ - Creates songs with digital samplers, drum machines, keyboards, turntables, high end recording equipment & music editing.

Mobile DJ - The person that brings sound & lighting equipment to Proms, weddings & other events. They run the lights, play the music & MC at those events.

Bedroom DJ - Amateur DJ that DJs as a hobby in their home.

Celebrity DJ - Plays very large avenues for thousands of people. Tiesto is a celebrity DJ.
