I like the name Hunter. Sounds like the name of someone who will do well in life. :) Have you thought of a middle name? Just a few:
Hunter James
Hunter Joel
Hunter Brian
Hunter Kevin
Hunter Daniel

I think Hunter is a fine name for a little boy and grown man too.

PS My friend has a child named Hunter and he never has gotten teased about it ever.

I LOVE THAT NAME!!! I have two daughters, (Maya and Talia) and am now expecting my third, which is another girl. If I ever had a boy, I will want to name him Hunter! Go for it!

It isn't bad but honestly there is something that tells me it is a bad choice. It is masculine but maybe a tad over the top. It is kind of a threatening name, like someone out of control with aggression. If you want a name that drips with masculinity and is a little mysterious then go with it.

One of my great-nephews is named Hunter...and I can't stand it. His brother's names are Storm and Dakota. My niece had a theme, apparently.

Yes! I think that is an adorable name - and it's not soooo common that there will be 3 other boys in class with the same name.

Your kid will most definitely be ridiculed for this name during elementary school. However, if you and your spouse favour the name, then there should be no reason not to name your son Hunter.

(The name reminds me of the character on Ugly Betty, btw..)

hunter to me is great...
sounds like a survivor, smart, cunning, without hunters, people would not have been able to survive.
a true hunter is one who is one with the nature of the universe. he does not hunt for pleasure, he hunts to survive. in the past, hunters, or providers, have been held in reverence.
if you like it, go with it.
i love it.
congratulations on the birth of your son.
