I am in Lebanon.
I think the issue is that the politicians are playing a game and it always the people who suffer. I would like to address that the Lebanon shouldn't listen to the politicians who are in power and do the RIGHT thing for Lebanon.

In addition to solving the political crisis:
1) I wish they would ban & stop Star Academy for an eternity.
2) I wish they would give Lebanese in diaspora their citizenship back
3) I wish they would solve the Jews of Lebanon issue. For those who don't know
http://thejewsoflebanon.org/me/index.php
4) Although not social, I wish they could pay more attention to environmental problems in general
5) My parking space: People, please I repeat. Never try to park there. Even if its only for "a few moments & I'm not there"
Thank You.

First of all the innocent killing and wars have to stop.
This is no way to communicate anything. Its not rocket science for the love of god its common sense. These politicians need lessons in common sense.
I agree with Webby, we need more jobs created in beirut for people who are willing and more that qualified and educated enough to work, this will in time develop a larger market globally which could possibly create more tourism, global countries need to perhaps consider Beirut for another office for their business, IE Amex, microsoft, mackintosh, yahoo, msn, Finance companies, Price waterhouse coopers etc, large rich companies that can afford to pay reasonable salaries ( I mean how much money they could save on rent and salaries in comparison to UK and US branches is enough of a reason alone to consider Beirut) to end the poverty.
Israel needs to be split in half with a damn wall like Germany was if Palestinians and Jews are too ignorant to stop bombing innocent people. And all the jailed people should be released without squabbling, end of story.
AND someone please get RID of Smutty's car, and make him cycle to work to save the world.

Only one? that's not fair, at the last count I had 52.
I'm Lebanese living in Australia.
Urgent issue to be addressed would be basic survival. there is a seriously destitute class in Lebanon living way under the poverty line.
There are families out there who can't afford to eat! We need to create jobs, we need fair wages, we need easier access to health services, we need affordable basic food and amenities (electricity...etc...).
We need to stop playing politics at the expenses of these poor people so that opportunities can be created.
The other as important issue is private parking lots. There are people in Lebanon who have decided that what we own is ours and theirs but what they own is theirs and they are not sharing or surrendering them to anyone.
Now this is not fair!!
If we are in this together, they need to come to the party and allow us to park our car with their car ( I checked and I know it's big enough) in return for us allowing them to drive on our streets.

i am of lebanese descent, living abroad.
i am not sure if this is a social issue, but i believe that lebanese as well as other people of the arab world lack a sense of unity. the only way a nation could ever be victorious is to have all its people unite into ONE nation, not divide according to what religion they are.

i am lebanese living abroad the main problem in lebanon is the blind obediance to religious based political parties bassicaly if your christian than you will join a christian political party and blindly folloe it and kill or die for that party and not for the country itself thats the main problem i support the ouwet christian party and although it is wrong to do so to pick no party at all will be bad for me its like being republican or democrat and not having a third option to vote for not voting for anyone will not be beneficial so ill vote for or belive in what i thinkmis the lesser of two evils

ok, im lebanese living abroad, for some time now,
your question is broad, so i will answer not due to politic but due to the people living there i would say:
Please please people, stay together, dont answer any one, dont follow any leader, when you are hand in hand, one heart and one word, your contry will be a blessing and will be heaven.
These people will do nothing to our country but disaster, please THINK before you ACT..
PEACE, Love, Lebanon
