Because they have ran out of good ideas anymore. They are always using some old story in an old way and expect people to think its funny. They might only be funny when you are drunk.

For the money.
It's far too risky for them to invest millions of dollars on something original, so they instead rely on stale staples that have worked in the past. The result? Bland, predictable, non-funny comedies...

They better hire good writers.
